Soft Wash Mixing Ratios

In order to achieve the desired mixing ratios, use the chart below to measure each ingredient into a batching tank or use the second chart to achieve the desired mixtures with a proportioner connected to holding tanks.

Batch Mixing

Batch mixing can be done in a pump sprayer, a holding tank or bucket. This chart will help you reach the desired mixture strengths per gallon.

To known what mixture strength to use, refer to Soft Wash Application Strengths.

Proportioner Mixing Positions

Below is an example of a common proportioner system and how the valve direction meters the amount of liquid allowed to pass through. These are going to be the most common proportioner valve handle positions used in soft washing.

To known what mixture strength to use, refer to Soft Wash Application Strengths.

Note that all proportioners are not configured the exact same way. Please refer to your manufacturer's specification for details. In the example below, when the valve handle points to the left, the ball valve is completely open. When the ball valve points to the right, the ball valve is completely closed. The order in which the ball valves appear is (starting from the left) water, surfactant, and sodium hypochlorite.
