Roof Soft Wash & Moss Removal - Pro Tips

When applying the soft wash solution…

1. …be mindful of overspray. It is very easy to shoot chemicals off the roof and discolor fences, spray neighbors' houses or get the chemical in unwanted areas. Be mindful and go slow.
   
   
2. …use a low-pressure fan spray to apply the soft wash solution to a majority of the roof. Only use straight shooter nozzles for hard-to-reach areas, and do not overshoot the roof. Only hit what you can see.
   
   
3. …apply chemicals to as many areas as you can from a single position to limit steps on a roof and/or ladder movement.

WARNING: SODIUM HYPOCHLORITE CAN CAUSE FLASH OXIDATION ON METAL ROOFS ON HOT DAYS. PRE-RINSE THE ROOF WITH WATER TO COOL THE ROOF DOWN BEFORE APPLYING CHEMICALS. KEEP THE ROOF WET WITH WATER OR LOW-STRENGTH SOFT WASH SOLUTION WHILE THE TREATMENT IS WORKING. DO NOT LEAVE THE SOLUTION ON THE ROOF. RINSE THOROUGHLY 15-20 MINUTES AFTER TREATMENT.

Set expectations with the customer before and after the work has been completed. This will align the customer's expectations with the project results and prevent misunderstandings.
